Six Districts, One Board
Most students find their board obvious. Under Gujranwala, plenty do not — because the board’s name says Gujranwala while its territory runs through Sialkot, Gujrat, Narowal, Hafizabad and Mandi Bahauddin as well. Sialkot in particular is a large, well-known city with no board of its own, and every year students there go looking for a “BISE Sialkot” that has never existed.
There is no separate board for Sialkot, Gujrat or Narowal. All three sit under BISE Gujranwala, and so does the newly created district of Wazirabad, which was carved out of Gujranwala and stays with its parent board. If your school is anywhere in the six districts below, this is your board.

BISE Gujranwala was established on 14 October 1982 under the Punjab Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education Act, 1976, and conducted its first secondary school examination in 1983. The 1976 date that circulates online belongs to the Act itself, not to the board.

Your Marks and What They Have to Reach
The 9th class result is scored out of 505 marks. Science subjects carry 60-mark theory papers, not 75, because no practical examination is held in 9th class — a single 30-mark practical covering both years comes at the end of 10th. Our practical marks guide sets out that split.
The column that matters most this year is the last one. From the 2026 annual examinations the minimum passing mark rose from 33% to 40%, and it applies subject by subject — a strong aggregate does not carry a weak paper.

The grade printed beside your marks
SSC Part-I results now use a ten-point letter scale in place of the old seven-point one. Grade Point Average was deferred, so your 2026 card shows marks, percentage and a letter grade — no GPA figure.
A U grade is not the end of your year. One or two ungraded subjects send you to the second annual examination for those papers only, while you move into 10th class in the meantime. The full breakdown is in our grading guide.
Rechecking at Gujranwala Board
Gujranwala accepts rechecking applications through its own portal, which spares candidates in Narowal, Shakargarh or Malakwal a journey to the board office simply to lodge a form. What the process can achieve, though, is narrower than most students expect.
Rechecking verifies arithmetic and custody — it is not a second opinion on your answers. The officer confirms that totals were carried forward correctly between pages, that no part of any answer was skipped, that the sub-totals inside each question add up, and that the figure on your script matches the figure in the record. Nobody re-marks your work; boards print a Supreme Court citation on the form to say so.

Is there a separate BISE Sialkot for 9th class results?
No. Sialkot has never had its own education board. Students from Sialkot, Daska, Pasrur and Sambrial all appear under BISE Gujranwala and check their result through the Gujranwala portal or shortcode.
Which districts come under BISE Gujranwala?
Six: Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin and Narowal. That is the widest jurisdiction of any Punjab board. Wazirabad, notified more recently as a separate district, remains with Gujranwala Board.
When is the Gujranwala Board 9th class result 2026 announced?
2 September 2026 at 10:00 AM Pakistan time. The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen fixes one date for all nine boards, so Gujranwala does not release earlier or later than the rest.

How much do I need in each subject to pass?
Forty per cent per subject, which replaced the old 33% rule for the 2026 examinations. In marks that is 30 on a 75-mark paper, 24 on a 60-mark science paper, and 20 on a 50-mark paper.
Can I apply for rechecking without travelling to Gujranwala?
