A Board on Both Banks of the Indus
DG Khan Board is the only one in Punjab whose territory is split by the Indus. Two of its districts sit on the western bank against the Suleman Range, two on the eastern bank in the Thal and riverine belt. It is also the only Punjab board that touches three other provinces — Balochistan to the west, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the north, and Sindh at Rojhan in the south.

New districts do not create new boards. Kot Addu and Taunsa were notified as districts in their own right, but a district only changes board when a board is formally established for it — and none has been. Both remain with DG Khan. The board name printed on your roll number slip is the final word in every case.

This matters more here than in most divisions. The service runs on infrastructure separate from the website and needs no data connection at all — across Chaubara, Rojhan and the hill tehsils west of the Indus, a working voice signal is often all you have. Nine-class results are scored out of 505. The final column shows how much of that total each paper is responsible for — useful when you are deciding where a rechecking application or a second attempt would actually move the needle.

Science papers stop at 60 rather than 75 because 9th class holds no practical examination. One 30-mark practical covering both years is taken at the end of 10th — what happens to your practical marks explains where they go and when.
The 202 figure is the 40% line on the aggregate, but it is not the test that decides your result. Forty per cent is required in each paper on its own, so a candidate well past 202 can still be sent to the supplementary category by one subject. Alongside the marks your card carries a letter on the ten-point scale — A++ from 96%, A+ from 91%, A from 86%, B++ from 81%, B+ from 76%, B from 71%, C+ from 61%, C from 51%, D from 40%, and U below that. If Something Is Wrong With Your Result
Distances in this division are long enough that it is worth knowing which problems can be settled online. Two of the three below can.

DG Khan Board prints the position clearly on its own rechecking form: an answer book will not be re-assessed, and nobody acting on a candidate’s behalf may view it. What the officer verifies is that totals were carried forward between pages, that no portion of an answer was left unmarked, that sub-totals inside each question add up, and that the figure on the script matches the record. If an error is found, a revised result card is issued.
About the Board
BISE DG Khan was established in 1989, separated from Multan Board, which until then administered almost the whole of southern Punjab. Its neighbour to the east, Bahawalpur Board, had separated from the same parent about a decade earlier.

Frequently Asked Questions
Kot Addu is a separate district now — has its board changed?
No. Kot Addu remains with BISE DG Khan. A district only moves when a new board is formally established for it, and none has been created. The same applies to Taunsa, which was also notified as a district but continues under DG Khan.
My school is in Rojhan, close to Sindh. Which board holds my result?
BISE DG Khan. Rojhan is a tehsil of Rajanpur district in Punjab, so your record sits with a Punjab board no matter how near the provincial boundary is. Searching a Sindh board portal will simply return nothing.
Which districts does DG Khan Board cover?
Four: Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur west of the Indus, and Muzaffargarh and Layyah east of it. Together they make up DG Khan Division, along with the newer districts of Taunsa and Kot Addu carved from within it.
What if I have no internet on result day?
Text your roll number to 800295. The SMS service works on any mobile phone without a data connection and runs independently of the board website, so it answers during the congestion right after ten and in areas where data coverage is unreliable.
How many marks do I need in each subject?
Forty per cent of that paper, which replaced the old 33% rule from the 2026 examinations. That is 30 on a 75-mark paper, 24 on a 60-mark science paper, and 20 on a 50-mark paper. The rule applies subject by subject, not to your total.
Can my father or a teacher apply and view my paper for me?
An application can be lodged online, but the board’s own form states that nobody acting on a candidate’s behalf may see or examine the answer book. Anyone offering to “handle” your rechecking for a fee cannot legally be shown your script.
