Reading Your Result Card
The 9th class result is scored out of 505 marks. Science subjects carry 60-mark theory papers rather than 75, because 9th class has no practical examination — one combined 30-mark practical covering both years is taken at the end of 10th. That structure is set out in our practical marks guide.

From the 2026 examinations, results are reported on a ten-point letter scale and the pass mark rose from 33% to 40% in every individual subject. Here is where common totals land on that scale.
The overall figure is only half the story — the 40% rule bites subject by subject, so a comfortable total can still sit alongside one paper graded U. Grade Point Average has been deferred, so no GPA appears on the 2026 card. Full detail in our grading guide.
The Four Pothohar Districts
Rawalpindi Board covers a stretch of Punjab that has been redrawn more than most. Two of its tehsils — Murree and Talagang — have since been notified as districts in their own right, and students there sometimes assume that means a new board. It does not: a newly created district stays with its parent board until one is formally established for it.

When the Result Is Not What You Expected
Three things go wrong often enough to be worth naming, and each needs a different response.

One caution before you pay a rechecking fee: the process verifies arithmetic and custody, not academic judgement. An officer confirms that totals were carried forward, that no answer was left unmarked, and that the figure on your script matches the record. Nobody re-marks your answers. What rechecking can and cannot fix is worth reading first.

The board was established in October 1977, formed by separating the northern districts from BISE Sargodha — which is why Rawalpindi and Sargodha share more procedural DNA than either does with Lahore. Its offices sat at 6th Road in Satellite Town for decades before moving to the present campus at Morgah in 2013.

What total do I need to pass overall?
202 out of 505 is 40%, but the aggregate is not the test that matters. You need 40% in each individual subject — 30 on a 75-mark paper, 24 on a 60-mark science paper, 20 on a 50-mark paper. Any single subject below that is graded U.
Can I check my result without a roll number?
