Five Things Most Pages Still Get Wrong About 2026
More outdated information circulates about the 9th class result than about almost any other exam in Pakistan, and 2026 is the year it matters most, because several rules changed at once. If you have been reading about GPAs and 33% pass marks, here is what actually applies to your card.
Your marksheet shows a GPA out of 4.0 beside each subject.
GPA and CGPA were deferred when the reform launched. Your 2026 card carries marks, a percentage and a letter grade — no GPA figure at all.
You need 33% in each subject to pass.
The threshold rose to 40% from the 2026 annual examinations for 9th and 11th classes. Pages still quoting 33% are describing the rule your older sibling sat under.
Grades run A+, A, B, C, D, E, F, with E as the minimum pass.
A ten-point scale replaced the old system: A++, A+, A, B++, B+, B, C+, C, D and U. There is no E grade, and a fail is reported as U for Ungraded.
Physics, Chemistry and Biology are 75 marks each, with 15 practical marks inside.
In 9th class each science paper is 60 marks of theory and nothing else. No practical is examined in 9th at all.
The 9th class total is 550 marks.
It is 505. The 550 figure comes from counting science papers as 75 instead of 60 — an error of exactly 45 marks.

Those missing 45 marks are not missing at all — they are waiting. Each science subject carries a 30-mark practical examined once, at the end of 10th class, covering experiments from both years. The 40% rule is applied paper by paper, not to your aggregate. Scoring 400 out of 505 will not save a Chemistry paper that came in at 22. And your letter grade runs from A++ at 96% down through D at 40%, with U below that — reading your letter grade covers the full scale and why the GPA column is absent.

Punjab’s Newest Board, and Where Its Districts Came From
BISE Sahiwal was notified in June 2012, the ninth and last board created in Punjab. Its three districts did not arrive from one place — two transferred from Multan Board and one from Lahore Board.

Why older certificates in your family may name a different board. Anyone from these districts who matriculated before 2012 holds a Lahore or Multan Board certificate, and those records stayed with the original board. If you are attesting or verifying an older document, apply to the board printed on it rather than to Sahiwal.
If the Marks Do Not Add Up
Sahiwal Board describes its rechecking service accurately: it is a re-verification of marks totalling. An officer confirms that every page was evaluated, that individual question marks were transferred correctly to the title cover, and that no counting error crept in. Nobody forms a second opinion on your answers, and no Punjab board offers that as a candidate right — before you pay a rechecking fee explains why.

Will my Sahiwal Board result show a GPA?
No. The GPA and CGPA component of the new grading policy was deferred, so your 2026 card shows obtained marks, a percentage and a letter grade on the ten-point scale. Any site publishing a percentage-to-4.0 conversion chart has built it themselves.
Is the total 505 or 550 marks?
505. The 550 figure counts each science paper as 75 marks. In 9th class they are 60-mark theory papers, because the practical is examined at the end of 10th class instead. The difference is exactly 45 marks across three subjects.
My district is Okara — am I under Sahiwal Board or Lahore Board?
Sahiwal Board. Okara transferred from Lahore when Sahiwal Board was created in 2012. Certificates issued to Okara candidates before that year still name Lahore Board, but current candidates appear under Sahiwal.
How much do I need to pass now?
Forty per cent in each individual paper, up from the old 33%. That is 30 marks on a 75-mark paper, 24 on a 60-mark science paper, and 20 on a 50-mark paper. Anything below is graded U for that subject.
When is the Sahiwal Board result announced?
2 September 2026 at 10:00 AM Pakistan time. Being the newest board makes no difference to the timing — the Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen sets one date for all nine.
Can someone else collect my rechecking outcome or view my paper?
Where a board permits the answer book to be seen, the candidate must attend personally. Nobody may inspect your script on your behalf, which also means any agent offering to handle the process for a commission cannot legally be shown it.
