Why science papers are 60 and not 75. Nine-class students sit no practical examination — one combined 30-mark practical, covering both years’ experiments, is taken at the end of 10th class. So in 9th your Physics, Chemistry and Biology papers are 60 marks of theory each. Nothing is missing from your card. The full split is in our practical marks guide.
Arts elective combinations vary between schools — the 180 marks may be three papers of 60, or a different mix depending on the subjects your institution offers. Your roll number slip lists exactly which papers you were entered for; check that rather than assuming a standard set.
The 40% Test, Paper by Paper
From the 2026 annual examinations, the minimum passing mark moved from 33% to 40%, and it is applied to each paper on its own. A comfortable overall total does not lift a single subject that falls short.
Your result also carries a letter grade on the ten-point scale that replaced the old seven-point system: A++ from 96%, A+ from 91%, A from 86%, B++ from 81%, B+ from 76%, B from 71%, C+ from 61%, C from 51%, D from 40%, and U below 40%. BISE Faisalabad was established in 1988, when the division was separated from BISE Sargodha. Until then, students from Jhang, Chiniot and Toba Tek Singh all sat under Sargodha Board — which is why the two boards still run several procedures the same way.
If the Marks Do Not Look Right
Rechecking at Faisalabad Board is a verification of arithmetic and custody, not a fresh assessment. The officer checks that totals were carried forward between pages, that no part of an answer was left unmarked, that sub-totals inside each question add up, and that the figure on your script matches the record. Is the 9th class total 505 or 550 marks?
505. The confusion comes from counting science papers as 75 marks each. In 9th class they are 60-mark theory papers, because the practical is examined once at the end of 10th class. Compulsory subjects account for 250 and electives for 255, which is how the total reaches 505.
When does Faisalabad Board announce the 9th class result 2026?
2 September 2026 at 10:00 AM Pakistan time. The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen fixes one date for the whole province, so Faisalabad releases at the same moment as the other eight boards.
